Cutting, Copying and Pasting a Fastener Instance

You can cut, copy, and paste a fastener instance. The instructions described here apply to fasteners created from R2022x, and legacy fasteners.

This task shows you how to:

Cut and Paste a Fastener Instance

  1. Right-click the fastener instance to be cut and select Cut.
  2. Right-click the assembly where the fastener instance is to be pasted and select Paste.
    The cut operation followed by the paste operation creates a new fastener instance of the same fastener reference.
    Important: For legacy fasteners only:
    • If several engineering connections are associated to the fastener instance, they are all cut.
    • To cut and paste engineering connection, use the drag and drop method.

Copy and Paste a Fastener Instance

  1. Right-click the fastener instance to be copied and select Copy.
  2. Right-click the assembly where the fastener instance is to be pasted and select Paste.
    The copy operation followed by the paste operation creates a new fastener instance of the same fastener reference.
    Important: For legacy fasteners only:
    • If several engineering connections are associated to the fastener instance, they are not copied.
    • Whenever, after a creation, you need to move the fastener in the product structure use the drag and drop method.
