Selecting Fasteners Using a Bounding Box

You can use Selection Wizard to specify a bounding box to search for and select fasteners. Bounding boxes restrict the search to the fasteners included in them.

  1. From the Fastener section of the action bar, click Selection Wizard .
  2. In the Navigation Criteria dialog box, click Use Bounding Box.
    The Bounding Box dialog box appears.
  3. Enter the values you need to specify the bounding box determining the selection area:

    • Coordinates of the origin: enter the coordinates or select a point in the 3D area.
    • Dimensions: By default, the bounding box is rectangular and its lengths are along the X, Y, and Z axes.

  4. Optional: Click Preview to ensure that the bounding box is appropriate and that the fastener instances included in this volume also meet the criteria specified in the other dialog box areas.

    Note: You can change the origin coordinates using the arrows or selecting another point in the 3D area.

  5. Click Close Bounding Box.
    The fasteners found are displayed in the Navigation Results area of the Navigation Results dialog box.
