Displaying U and V Orders on Elements

You can display U and V orders on elements and modify their values.

These handles appear:

  • either by clicking the command in the App Options panel as illustrated in this task
  • or by selecting the option in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Styling > FreeStyle Shape Design, General tab, Display section.
Once they appear, their behavior is identical regardless of the chosen interface style.

Before you begin: Open an existing 3D shape.
  1. From the Edition section of the action bar, click Match Surface .
  2. Select the two edges to match.
  3. In the App Options panel, click U, V Orders .
    The orders of the element appear along the U and V directions of the geometry.



  4. Right-click on a text to choose another order value.


    Tips:

    You can also click the text. It automatically changes to the next digit down the list. Shift-clicking goes up in the list.

    The Automatic option enables you to modify the order and the segmentation of the matching surface to respect the continuity. The surface order is instantly modified. You can see it by using the Control Points option.
