Matching Curves

You can match a curve with another curve, with a point on a curve, or with a 3D point.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Open an existing 3D shape.

Match a Curve

You can match a curve using the Match Curve command.

  1. Select the curve you wish to match to another curve.
  2. Click Match Curve .
  3. Select the second element (first reference element) for the match curve to be joined to.

The first curve is automatically modified so as to be connected to the second element while taking the continuity type into account.

  4. Select Project End Point to allow a linear projection of the minimum distance between two curves by projecting the initial curve onto the target curve.
  5. Select Quick Analysis to enable a violation diagnosis of the curve matching. The original degree is kept (it is no longer automatically increased).
  6. Click OK.
