Offset Surface Dialog Box

The Offset Surface dialog box appears when you select Offset in the Secondary Area of the Creation section.

This dialog box contains controls for:

This page discusses:

Type

The options in the Type area are:

Simple
Creates an offset surface whose points are all at the same distance from the initial surface.
Variable
Lets you set different offset distances at each corner point of the surface.

Limits

The Limits area defines the constraints to be taken into account when computing the offset surface. It contains the following options:

Tolerance
The tolerance to the offset value.
Order
The maximum U and V orders in the resultant surface.

Display

Click More to show this area.

In the Display area you can select which information is displayed on the geometry:

Offset values
Displays the distance between any point of the initial surface and the resulting surface.
Normals
Displays the direction of the initial surface.
Order
Displays the order values in U and V
Tolerances
Displays the exact tolerance deviation.
Corners
Displays or hides the handles at the four corner points (only in Simple mode) to make Snap on Geometry possible.
