Extrapolation Dialog Box

The Extrapolation dialog box appears when you select Styling Extrapolate command in the Primary Area of the Edition section.

This dialog box contains controls for:

This page discusses:

Element

Select the element to be extrapolated.

Limit Type

Two options are available:

Length
Specifies the length for extrapolation.
Up To

Specifies the element up to which you want the input element to be extrapolated.

You can select a curve, plane or surface.

Length

This field is displayed if Length is selected in the Limit Type list.

Enter the extrapolation length.

Type

Tangential
The element is extended along the tangent to the element on the selected boundary (G1 continuity).
Curvature

This option is only applicable when extrapolating surfaces.

The surface is extrapolated by the specified value, complying with the surface curvature (G2 continuity). No handle is displayed.

Exact

When selected, the computation of the extrapolated surface is analytical with the resulting surface having the same degree as the initial surface. Note that if this option is selected, there may be instances of geometry where it is not possible to compute a result.

When unselected, the extrapolation is computed according to the geometric mode.

This option is only available when extrapolating surfaces.
