Manually Updating a 3D Shape

You can manually update a 3D shape that has just been modified.


Before you begin:
  • If Manual Update mode is not highlighted (not pressed), the update mode is Automatic. If the button is highlighted (pressed), the update mode is switched to Manual.

  • Create a 3D shape containing geometric elements.

  1. Open any representation.
  2. From the standard area of the action bar, click Manual Update mode .
  3. Perform modifications to the 3D shape in the document.

    It is highlighted in red, and the tree shows update symbols on the icon of the elements to be updated.

    Tip: You can click Undo to ignore the changes.
  4. From the standard area of the action bar, click Update All to update the changes.
    Important:
    • To update a 3D shape, the app provides two update modes available in Me > Preferences > Common Preferences > Object Properties > 3D Shape > Infrastructure Update section:
      • Automatic Update: If selected, the app updates the 3D shape when needed. By default, the Automatic option is selected.
      • Manual Update: If selected, it lets you control the update operations in your design.
    • If the update mode is changed in the the Preferences dialog box, the change (Automatic or Manual) is automatically reflected in the button display on the Tools section.
