Analyzing Dimensions and Annotations Through Colors Display

You can analyze an annotation according to its color display, and customize the color analysis.

The following dimensions and annotations can be analyzed:

  • Dimensions and annotations on deleted geometry.
  • Dimensions and annotations on unloaded geometry.
  • Invalid dimensions and annotations.
  • Technological feature dimensions.
  • Fake dimensions.
  • True dimensions.

Before you begin:
  • Open an existing 3D shape containing annotations.
  • Ensure that Elements' Analysis is selected in the View section of the action bar.
  • Click Configure available under Elements Analysis colors, available in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Mechanical Systems > 3D Tolerancing & Annotation Display section, to specify the colors for different options available in the Elements' Analysis dialog box.
  1. Modify the geometry of an existing annotation to set it as invalid.

The annotation color changes to the specified one in the Elements' Analysis dialog box.

  2. Change the existing color for Invalid dimensions and annotations.
The color of the invalid annotation is now changed.

  3. Click Elements' Analysis again.

Note: You can also clear the Activate elements' analysis colors check box available under Elements Analysis colors, in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Mechanical Systems > 3D Tolerancing & Annotation Display section.

The annotation appears with the default color for valid annotations.
