Making the Position of a Text Associative

You can set a positional link between a text and another element. This allows you to move several annotations in only one interaction.

Before you begin: Open a 3D shape.
  1. Right-click the driven text (text itself, frame or leader) and select Annotation Links > Create Positional Link.

  2. Select the driving text (text itself, frame or leader).

An information message appears stating that the driven text is located at the z-position of the driving text.

Important: Driving and driven texts must belong to the same active view and must be associated with the same geometrical element. In our example, a face.
  3. Move the driving text.
Both texts move and their distance remains the same.

  4. Move the driven text you selected. The selected annotation moves.

    Important:

To remove the associativity, right-click the driven text and select Annotation Links > Delete Positional Link.

  5. Right-click the driven text and select Annotation Links > Query Object Links.

The Query Link dialog box appears. In this dialog box, links, their type, value, and the pair of elements involved in the links (pointed element and pointing element) are listed.

In our example, a new positional link between two text annotations is listed.
