Positioning Dimension Anchor Points on Geometries of Revolution

You can position dimension anchor point of geometries of revolution such as circle, cone or cylinder, during the dimension creation between two geometrical elements.

  • The dimension anchor point can be positioned on the center/axis or the edge of the selected geometry of revolution.

  • This behavior cannot be available once the dimension is created.

  • The default positioning is defined in the Create dimensions on circle's or cylinder's or revolute's, see Dimension Creation

  1. From the Annotation section of the action bar, click Dimensions .
  2. Select the first hole as shown on the part.

  3. Select the second hole as shown on the part.
A diameter dimension appears on the first hole during the creation process.

The dimension is pre-created between the two holes and its dimension anchor points are positioned on their edges. Two yellow diamond handles represent the dimension anchor points.

  4. Move the pointer on the yellow diamond as shown to reveal all the available dimension anchor point locations.
These locations are numbered and represented by blue crosses.

  5. Drag both the yellow diamonds as shown on the location number 3.

    The dimension is modified accordingly.

  6. Click outside the geometry to create the dimension.
