Creating Angle Dimensions

You can create angular dimension annotations. Remember that when the dimension supports are related to a parameter (sketch's constraints and knowledge) for which tolerances are still defined, they are specified to the dimension tolerances.

Before you begin: Open an existing 3D shape.

  1. From the Annotation section of the action bar, click Dimensions .
  2. Select the first surface as shown on the part.

  3. Select the second surface on the part.

    The angular dimension appears.

  4. Right-click the angular dimension and select Angle Sector > Sector 4 .
    The angular dimension is modified.

  5. Right-click the dimension and select Angle Sector > Keep angle range.

While transforming the geometry, the position of the angle dimension is maintained (acute, obtuse, or reflex type).

  6. Click outside any geometry to end the dimension creation process.
Important: Because the Always try to create semantic tolerances and dimensions option has been selected, see Semantic Control, the Angular Size icon is displayed in the tree and the angular dimension named Angular Size.x during the dimension creation process. But at the end of the dimension creation process, this dimension has not been specified as semantic.

This is why the Linear Dimension icon appears in the tree and the angular dimension is renamed as Dimension.x.

  7. Right-click the angular dimension and select Dimension.x object > Angle Sector > Sector 1 .
The angular dimension sector is modified.

  8. From the Annotation section of the action bar, click Dimensions .
  9. Select the arc surface as shown below.
By default, the diameter center type dimension is generated.

  10. To generate the angular dimension, right-click the selected surface and select Angle.
The angle dimension on a selected circular arc geometry is generated without creating guiding lines.

  11. Optional: Right-click the angular dimension, select Dimension.x object > Angle Sector, and select the required angle sector to be displayed.
