Creating a Layout from 3D Tolerancing & Annotation

You can create a complete layout with sheets, views, and filters directly from a product with 3D Tolerancing & Annotation annotation sets, captures, and views using the View Layout command.

Important: This feature is available in 3D Tolerancing & Annotation only if you have a license for 2D Layout for 3D Design.

Before you begin:

Create a product with at least one annotation set that contains at least one capture or view.

  1. Create the view layout using any of the following methods:
    • To select multiple views, captures, and annotation sets: In 3D Tolerancing & Annotation, select the views, captures, and annotation sets in the tree. Right-click and select Selected objects > View Layout.
    • If there is no existing layout: In 3D Tolerancing & Annotation, from the View Layout section of the action bar, click View Layout . Select the annotation set, captures, or views to be added to the layout.
    • If there is an existing layout: In 2D Layout for 3D Design, from the View Layout section of the action bar, click View Layout from Tolerancing . Select the annotation set, captures, or views to be added to the layout.
    The view layout is created:

    Notes:
    • The layout views, created by any of the above methods, are placed in the order of the 3D Tolerancing & Annotation captures and views. The captures are followed by the views.
    • When you create a layout from an annotation set, a layout view is created only if no capture is associated with the 3D Tolerancing & Annotation View.
