Design Effectivity Matrix Report

The Design Effectivity Matrix report shows the compatibility of the model version revisions and derivations for a model.

An effectivity matrix shows the master composition model for the model or model version in that row, and a column for each model version derivation and revision that the model manages. The app generates the design effectivity matrix from the models listed on the Master Composition page tab in the Logical Features category of the model.

To access this page:

  1. Open the required model.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Model Versions. See Product Line Management User's Guide: Model Version Page.
  3. Select one or more model versions to include in the matrix. If you do not select a model version, all model versions are included.
  4. Click Reports > View Design Effectivity Matrix.

Column NameDescription
Master CompositionDisplays the Master Composition structure of the current model. The first row shows the model, and the subsequent rows show models added to its Master Composition list (in the Logical Features category).
Marketing NameA series of columns for each model version managed by the model. The top heading row lists the unique model version names, and the bottom heading row lists all the revisions (the revision attribute for both model version revisions and model version derivations) for that model version.
The cells in these columns list the marketing name of the model versions for that model followed by either (O) or (S) to indicate an optional or standard usage.
  • Standard: Automatically selected but can be removed.
  • Optional: Available for selection.

Click to edit the usage for that cell. See Editing an Effectivity Matrix.
