Importing and Exporting 3D XML

To exchange fault trees, you can import and export fault trees in .3dxml.

This task shows you how to:

Export Fault Trees into 3D XML

To export a fault tree into a 3D XML file, you can use the Export command available from the top bar of any native app. For more information, see Social and Collaborative: Product Development - Model Base: Exchange Management: Export: Exporting Content.

  1. In the Search box of the top bar, enter fte as a search string and select Fault tree element in the 6WTags.
    Fault trees appear in the search result.
  2. Select the fault tree to be exported and click Share > Export in the top bar.
  3. Select 3DXML with authoring (*.3dxml) in the Format box and enter a name.

Import Fault Trees from 3D XML

To work with existing fault trees in the Fault Tree Analysis app, you can use the Import command available from the top bar of any native app to import 3D XML files containing fault trees data in the database.
