Exporting Surpac Data Interactively

You can export 3DEXPERIENCE content to .dtm, .sdm or .str files.


Before you begin:

Converter for Surpac:

  • Is available only on Windows 64-bit OS
  • Supports .sdm V1 format from Surpac 6.8.1 and .sdm V2 format from Surpac 2019
  • Does not support:
    • Non-Mesh data
    • Texts and annotations
    • Graphical.ssi properties (for *.dtm)

Identifying a CRS and Importing it
  1. Select Share > Export.

    See Export for more information.

  2. In the Export dialog box:
    1. In the Format list, select SurpacDTM (*.dtm), SurpacSDM (*.sdm), or, when there is no surface element in the file to export, SurpacSTR (*.str).

      Notes: If you select SurpacSDM (*.sdm):
      • Geolocation information is accounted for during export provided that a CRS was specified for the current collaborative space before running the export.
      • Graphical properties are supported:
        • Line type and color
        • Symbol and color
        • Face color

        You can edit the line and marker styles of exported elements through the context menu (properties > Graphic).

      • The target CRS can be overloaded by selecting another CRS in the dialog box.

    2. Enter the storage location path.
    3. Click OK.
    If you try to export nontessellated content, the .dtm or .sdm file contains only the structure of triangulation objects, if any, and no partial representation.
