Coloring a Block Model

Color Block Model lets you draw attention to specific blocks of a block model using a color scheme from the defined palette.

  1. Specify the working context by double-clicking the 3D shape under the product in the tree.
    The UI-activated object (3D shape) appears highlighted in blue. You can now work in the context of the 3d shape.
  2. In the tree or in the work area, select a block model representation.
  3. In the Color Blocks dialog box, choose from the following:

    Color by Attribute Lets you apply a color on a block with respect to a specific attribute value. The color is applied to blocks as per the attribute values specified in the palette in Data Setup.
    Solid Color By default, this option is selected with the Render Occluded blocks. No color is applied to the block. Use this option to reset the block color.
  4. To display the color legend, select the Display legend check box. The legend displays the range of values associated with the block model attribute you selected (can be any numerical or alpha-numerical attribute defined in the block model.)

    Important: The color is specified by the palette defined in Data Setup.

  5. Click Ok.
    The blocks are colored with respect to their attribute values.
