Understanding 3D Shape and Product Worlds

In Earth Materials and Volumes, you can work in two complementary worlds.

The Earth Materials and Volumes app operates both in the context of a 3D shape and a product. The 3D shape context enables you to use geometry (surfaces) for using Earth Materials and Volumes commands. . You create such geometry elements and modify them in geometric dedicated Earth Engineeringapps, such as Mine 3D Design and Pit Optimization. You can use these apps that provide tools to create or modify objects inside solid bodies or (ordered) geometric sets.

Most objects handled in Earth Materials and Volumes are cloud of points. In the 3D shape world, you draw geometry, create, and modify shapes. In the product world, you create and compose environments as well as move and position 3D parts and products. A combination of an active structure level, a selection mode, and a type of view help you identify the world in which you are working. When you enter the Earth Materials and Volumes app, you need to create a product.
