Defining a Pit Phase

Pit Phase enables you to create a pit phase from a bottom toe contour or a surface.

Before you begin:
  • Specify Pit Parameters.
  • Create a pit feature.
  1. Specify the working context by double-clicking the 3d shape under the surface mine in the tree.
The UI-activated object (3d shape) appears highlighted in blue. You can now work in the context of the 3d shape.
  2. In the tree or in the work area, select the parent pit.
  3. Select the support plane of the bottom bench.
  4. From the options, select one of the following:
    OptionDescription
From bottom to top: Lets you select the bottom toe contour or create it on the fly.
From a surface: Lets you select a surface. The intersections of the surfaces with the bench support planes create the contours of the pit phase.
Tip: If you selected Up to Terrain for the Bench Creation, the number of benches is processed automatically so that the pit surface reaches the highest point of the terrain.
  5. Click Apply.

The pit phase is processed. The computation is not interrupted at the first partial intersection or missing intersection of the bench support plane with an optimized pit shell.
