Pit Optimization

Pit Optimization is a native app. It provides powerful toolsets for mining engineers and strategic mine planners to determine an optimized design for the pit outline over the life-of-mine. It lets you efficiently create an optimized pit and pushbacks with high Net Present Value (NPV) and practical pit shapes.

The Pit Optimization app provides capabilities to:

  • Control economic parameters, including commodity price and various costs.
  • Control planning and design parameters, such as pit slopes, mining width, and bench tapering.
  • Drive the pit phases (also referred to as pushbacks ) to meet the requirement of operational constraints, such as mining, processing tonnage range, and development direction.
  • Creates material schedules to evaluate the NPV under the operational constraints.
  • Quickly visualize the 3D generated final pit and intermediate phases and review the associated reports.
  • Create and populate multiple scenarios to test the impact alternative assumptions.
