Displaying the Optimized Pit

Pit Display View enables you to show the optimized pit in context to visualize and review the created phases and the periods in the model

  1. Double-click the Scenario node in the tree to specify the working context.
The UI-activated object appears highlighted in blue. You can now work in the context of the scenario and perform operations on the pit case of your choice.
  2. Under the Scenario category, right-click a Pit case and select Pit Display.
  3. Select whether to display the pit by Phases or Period.

    Notes:
    • By default, Phase is selected.

    • The default phase numbers are set at 1 and the highest phase is defined. Period is available if you run the optimization; the periods are generated during the run.

  4. To show the changes in the model click either Apply, to manually apply the changes, or Auto Refresh, to make the model update automatically. When Auto Refresh is selected Apply is disabled.
  5. Use the arrows to step through the Phases or Period.

Click Bind Changes to link the two fields and step through the model while maintaining the same offset.

  6. Optional: Click Show Blocks Outside Final Pit to display any blocks that are outside the pit. This option is disabled by default.
  7. Use the Color Blocks by list to change how the blocks are colored. By default, blocks are colored by either phase or period. The value can be changed to color the blocks by different attributes, such as grade.
  8. Use Display Blocks on Planes to display blocks using different planes. This allows you to step through the model and review slices in different directions.

The Step Size specifies the size of the step when moving through the model. Specify a higher step to move through the model faster.

Changing the Coordinate, either Z, Y, or X, moves the plane to the specified coordinate.

  9. Click Cancel to close the panel.

Click Reset to reset the model to unfiltered and uncolored. The dialogs also reset to the default values.
