Creating a Processing

You can create one or several processing methods per commodity based on the rock type attribute value to use for running pit and phase optimization, scheduling, or both. New Processing enables you to specify one or several processing methods per commodity based on the rock type attribute for running pit and phase optimization and scheduling .

Your company's policies will determine when you should create new processing destinations.


Before you begin: Create at least one scenario using the complex valuation method. See Creating a Scenario.

  1. From the Pit Optimization section of the action bar, click New Processing .
    Alternatively, in the tree, double-click Processing in the Pit Opt case underneath the Scenario category, and select New Processing.
  2. Underneath the Pit Opt case scenario instance, double-click the processing node, and select New processing from the context menu.
  3. In the New processing dialog box, enter a descriptive Name
  4. From the Rock Type Attribute list, select the required ore, and click Add Path. You can add as many paths as required.
    Selecting the rock type attribute determines which codes or technical regions can be selected in each path of the Rock Type that is considered.
  5. Select the code from the Rock Type list. Only codes related to the Rock Type Attribute you selected, are available.
  6. Enter a value for the Processing Cost.
    The associated values required for Commodity, Cost, Recovery percentage, Min Grade and Max Grade are provided in the table for each path.
  7. Click Ok.
