Controlling the Run Speed

You can control the speed of the pit optimization run by combining blocks to temporarily reduce the resolution of the block model so that the optimization runs faster. Run Control enables you to run the pit optimization faster by combining blocks to reduce the resolution of the block model.

Before you begin:

Define a site and a block model for the optimization.
Prepare the optimization. See Preparing an Optimization Block Model.
Create at least one scenario. See Creating a Scenario.

About the Optimization Run Performance

From the Pit Optimization section of the action bar, click Run Control
In the Run Control dialog box, click Combine Blocks to Speed Up Run.
Specify the X, Y, and Z values to Combine Blocks by. The default values are 1.
The New Block Size values update to show the new block sizes as the values are entered. The Number of Blocks field shows the number of blocks Before and After the blocks are combined.
Click Ok.
