Performing an Optimization Using the Shape Optimization Assistant

Shape Optimization assistant lets you guide you through the sequence of operations for performing a topology optimization.


Before you begin: Create a simulation object and an optimization.
  1. Double-click the optimization.

    The strategy is the one defined when creating the optimization.

  2. Select one of the following options:
    OptionDescription
    Model Configures the model, refines the definition of local optimization areas, and specifies connections.
    Physics Specifies loads and restraints and defines load cases.
    Validation Verifies that an analysis of your base model generates the expected results.
    Optimization Applies additional constraints to the optimization, runs the optimization, and computes the optimized shape that satisfies the targets, constraints, and shape controls you have specified.
    Concept Generates a smooth representation of the concept shape and applies the prescribed conditions defined in the analysis setup to the 3D model representing the concept shape.
