You can use a pressure to apply a distributed load normal to a surface.

Apply Uniform Pressures

You can apply a pressure that has the same value for all points within the selected supports.

  1. From the Physics section of the assistant, expand the Loads list and select Pressure.
  2. Select a face from the model.
  3. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  4. Optional: If the geometry supports include surface geometry, click the arrow to change the side of the surfaces on which the pressure is applied.
  5. Enter a magnitude in the Pressure field.

Apply Hydrostatic Pressure Distributions

You can apply a pressure that varies according to height.

  1. From the Physics section of the assistant, expand the Loads list and select Pressure.
  2. Select a face from the model.
  3. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  4. Optional: If the geometry supports include surface geometry, click the arrow to change the side of the surfaces on which the pressure is applied.
  5. Enter a magnitude in the Pressure field.
  6. Enter the Z coordinate of the Zero pressure height.

    This is the height at which the pressure is zero.

  7. Enter the Z coordinate of the Reference pressure height.

    This is the height at which the pressure is the magnitude specified in the Pressure field.
