About the Optimization Stategy

The following targets are available:

• Maximize stiffness: Creates an optimized model that tries to maximize the stiffness of the design space.
• Maximize frequencies: Creates an optimized model that tries to maximize the five lowest natural frequencies of the design space.
• Minimize mass: Creates an optimized model that tries to minimize the mass of the design space.

To prevent the optimization from arriving at a trivial solution, you must apply additional constraints on the solution. For example, if the optimization is trying to maximize the stiffness of the design space, you must also specify the target mass of the optimized model (that is a percentage of the original mass of the design space or an absolute value of the mass).
