Browsing, Organizing, and Editing Views: View Browser

You can navigate between the views in your sheet with the Views panel of the view browser and organize them.

Views is a panel representation in your sheet which shows all the views with details or as thumbnails. The number of views in your sheet are mentioned next to the title of the panel.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin:
  • From the View section of the action bar, click View Browser . The Views panel appears in the work area. Click again to hide it. By default, the panel is activated.
  • To view the panel, create and activate design sheet with at least one view.

Browse Views

You can browse and navigate between all the views.

  1. In the Views panel, you can display the views in your sheet in different formats:
    1. Click to display in thumbnails view.
    2. Click to display in details view.
  2. Hover over a thumbnail.
    The scale and the filter (if applicable) appear in a tooltip.
  3. Select a thumbnail or a details view item in the panel.
    The corresponding view is selected in the work area.
  4. Double-click a thumbnail.
    The corresponding view is activated work area.
  5. Right-click the thumbnail or a list item to access other commands.
  6. Add, delete, or modify the view in the work area.
    The view browser is updated accordingly.

Organize and Edit Views

You can rename and reorder the views. This is only possible in authoring apps like Drafting, 2D Layout for 3D Design, and 3D Tolerancing & Annotation.

  1. In the Views panel, double-click the name in the thumbnail view or the details view and rename the view.
    The new name is updated in the tree with the prefix of a projection view, the ID attribute of a section view or a section cut view.
  2. Drag the thumbnail of a view on another thumbnail above which you want to place it.
    The order is rearranged in the view browser and the tree.
  3. Change the associated filter.
    The view and the view browser are updated.
