Pattern Properties

Pattern lets you modify pattern properties.

Select the Pattern tab to access properties.

This page discusses:

Select a pattern type in the drop-down list.
Hatching
Patterns are displayed as hatches.
Dotting
Patterns are displayed as dots.
Coloring
Patterns are displayed using the selected color.
Image
Patterns are displayed using the selected image.
Vector
Patterns are displayed as vectors.
[...]
Displays the Pattern Chooser dialog box. You can select any of the available patterns.
Number of hatchings
Specifies the number of different hatchings defined in the current pattern.

A tab is available for each hatching.

Hatching

Angle
Sets the angle value in degrees for this hatching.
Color
Sets the color used for this hatching.
Pitch

Displays a preview of the current pattern.

Management of 3D part material pattern

Synchronize during view update
Synchronizes automatically the properties of the pattern with those associated with the 3D part material, during each view update.

In this case, you should not modify other properties in this dialog box.

Note:

In a Drafting context, this option is available for generated patterns, when a material is associated to the 3D part.

Otherwise, the following message is displayed instead: No Material On Part.

For patterns representing area fills, this option is not available.

Reset using pattern defined in material
Synchronizes the pattern in accordance with the pattern associated with the 3D part material .

This option is not available for selection when Synchronize during view update is selected.

In this case, you can update the drawing or the view containing the selected pattern and then the option is available.

Important:
  • Each part is assigned a specific pattern.

Therefore, each time the pattern is modified using the Properties dialog box, all the patterns of the views generated from this part are modified.

These modifications are applied to all existing sheets.

  • The choices are applied to all the selected patterns, and to all the patterns associated to the same 3D parts as the selected patterns.
  • Pattern properties are not persistent: For example, the pattern may change after switching an exact view to the approximate mode (and vice versa).
  • Patterns are defined in the standards.

For more information, see Pattern Definition.
