Managing Performance Profiles

You can use predefined rendering parameters and quickly tune some render options through commands available in the action bar.

Applying Performance Profiles

Performance profiles let you reduce the core quality level for optimizing performance.

These profiles are created by the City Referential manager to activate or deactivate some 3D effects for performance reason.

From the Settings section of the action bar , click the appropriate performance profile.
ProfileDescription
Provides the highest performance, but with a lower rendering quality.

Relevant when editing or navigating, but not if you intend to take screenshots.

Not all effects are available when you access the Rendering Modes panel.

Provides a medium performance.

Not all effects are available when you access the Rendering Modes panel.

Provides the lowest performance. All the rendering and 3D effects are adjusted, but the framerate can slow down, especially on low-end computers and/or if the loaded experience contains visible heavy datasets.

Relevant when adjusting rendering profiles (even though you might not be able to activate some 3D effects).

All effects are available when you access the Rendering Modes panel.

The changes are simultaneously applied to the 3D view and the corresponding effect icon is activated in the Settings section of the action bar.

Tuning Performance Profiles

You can temporarily modify the effects defined for the render profile, provided that they are compliant with the selected performance profile. This means that only effects that can be activated in the current performance profile are available in the action bar.

The activation or deactivation of a 3D effect is done in the render profile through the Rendering Modes command.

From the Settings section of the action bar, click the available icons to apply the corresponding render effect:
IconEffect
Bloom
Anti-Aliasing
Shadows
Depth Of Field
Ambient Occlusion
Realistic Water

For more information on these effects, see Defining Rendering Modes.

The display is simultaneously updated to reflect your changes.
