Welcome Screen

You can directly open an existing City experience through 3DSpace or 3DSearch. You can also create and manage City referentials from the welcome screen.

Load an Experience from 3DSpace

You can retrieve an experience available in a collaborative space, or upload an experience from your computer.

Before you begin:

Do not modify default access rules, especially the Allow user read access to any content in any other collaborative space option which must be activated. Otherwise, you might not be able to read documents in your experience. For more information, see Installation and Setup: Administrate: 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: 3DSpace: Collaborative Spaces Control Center: Configuring Content for the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: Configuring Content Security and Business Processes: Rules that Determine Who Can Read Content: Allow Read Access to In Work Content in Protected or Private Collaborative Spaces.

  1. From the Compass, click Social and Collaborative Apps .
  2. Drag the 3DSpace widget to your dashboard.
  3. From the top bar, click 6WTags .
  4. In the 6WTags panel, expand the What category, and then select the City Experience tag.
    The 3DSpace widget is refreshed to display only the documents corresponding to the selected tag values.
  5. Drag the experience file from 3DSpace to the welcome screen in the City widget.
  6. Optional: If the experience is not already available in 3DSpace, click Add Content , and browse your file tree to locate the City experience to be uploaded in the collaborative space. Then, drag the experience file from 3DSpace to the City widget.

The city virtual mockup is displayed and you can start navigating.

Load an Experience from 3DSearch

You can retrieve an experience available in a collaborative space through 3DSearch.

  1. Optional: If you have a rough idea of the experience name, enter the appropriate criteria in the Search box, and then press Enter.
    Objects fulfilling your search criteria are displayed in the 3DSearch panel, and you can then drag the experience of your choice to the City widget.
  2. From the Compass, click Social and Collaborative Apps .
  3. Drag the 3DSearch widget to your dashboard.
  4. From the top bar, click 6WTags .
  5. In the 6WTags panel, you can use the following categories to filter the content of the 3DSearch widget.
    CategoryTag
    What City Experience

    Experiences created and saved through City Referential.
    Type Document

    Experiences created and saved through City Referential.
    Type Navigation Experience

    Experiences created and published through City Referential.
    The 3DSearch widget is refreshed to display only the experiences available to you.
  6. Drag the experience file from 3DSearch to the welcome screen of the City widget.

The city virtual mockup is displayed and you can start navigating.

Create and Manage Referentials

You can create your own referential or access previously created referentials.

In the welcome screen, click either:
  • to create a new referential in which you can then import or add new datasources. This functionality is also available from the Referential section of the action bar. For more information, see Creating a Referential.
  • to select an already existing referential. This functionality is also available from the Referential section of the action bar. For more information, see Selecting a Referential.
