Setting Widget Preferences

You can edit some widget preferences to customize your widget experience.

  1. On the top-right of the widget, click .
  2. Select Preferences.
    OptionDescription
Widget Title Lets you define a title for the City widget.
Display Title Uses the title defined in the Widget Title box as the widget name.

By default, the experience name is used.

Restore City Experience Activates a periodic save of your experience every minute. The recovery version is saved in your browser local storage, and contains the whole experience (including temporary items).
    • Ask me every time. By default, this option is selected, which means that whenever the widget is reloaded, the Restore City Experience dialog box opens and prompts you to choose between the following two options:
      • Keep latest changes (from my computer): retrieves the latest changes made to your experience (which might not have been saved to 3DSpace).
      • Revert to saved document (from 3DSpace): retrieves the latest experience saved in 3DSpace.

To change the default behavior and repeat your choice each time the widget is reloaded, select the Don't ask again option.

    • Keep latest changes (from my computer): select this option directly in the widget preferences dialog box to set it as the default. The Restore City Experience dialog box will not be displayed when the widget is reloaded.
    • Revert to saved document (from 3DSpace): select this option directly in the widget preferences dialog box to set it as the default. The Restore City Experience dialog box will not be displayed when the widget is reloaded.
Important: If the experience has not been previously saved in 3DSpace, selecting:
    • Ask me every time or Keep latest changes (from my computer) means that the local version of your experience is automatically loaded.
    • Revert to saved document (from 3DSpace) means that an empty widget is reloaded.
    • Readers are allowed to refresh the widgets but cannot change the preferences or add new widgets. Therefore, if a user has only the Reader role (a read-only access to the dashboard), no local version is saved and the last document saved in 3DSpace is reloaded.
Enable City Datasets automatic refresh Lets you automatically refresh the list of datasets displayed in the Referential panel.

If this option is cleared, you have to manually refresh the list (by running the City Referential Panel command again) to see new datasets that might have been created by other users.

Display void GIS attributes in Properties panelIf this option is selected, all dataset attributes (either prepared or in preview) are listed in the Properties panel. Otherwise, only attributes with a value are displayed.

By default, this option is selected.

Publish Event Generates a topic as well as the associated JSON data, when an event occur in the City widget.

This allows communication between widgets on a same dashboard. Changes made to the content of a City experience displayed by the City widget through the Publish/Subscribe protocol persist the same way as when changes come from the widget user interface.

    Subscribe Event

Lets you specify how the City widget reacts when a topic is emitted by other widgets located in the same dashboard.

    • None: the City widget never reacts to any emitted topic.
    • From paired widget only: the City widget reacts to any emitted topic, but only with the widget with which it has been paired on the dashboard.
    • From widgets on the same tab (default): the City widget reacts to any known topic, but only when emitted from a widget located on the same tab as the dashboard.
    • From all dashboard widgets: the widget reacts to any known topic with no restriction concerning the emitter.
Access Level Lets you specify what the external trusted widget is allowed to do or modify within a City widget and a loaded experience.
    • Basic: the City widget emits information about status change, camera location, and selection but does not allow or subscribe to any modification coming from external apps.
    • Location: the City widget only reacts to instructions related to moving the camera location or the target point within the City mockup.
    • Selection: the City widget enables the modification of the selected items within the loaded experience.
    • Load temporary (default for new widget instances): the City widget allows the loading of new layers, similarly to the datasources in preview mode, but new layers only appear in the Temporary Items folder. Layers added by third party widgets are therefore not added to the City experience when it is saved.
    • Create: the City widget enables the creation of items.
    • Full: the City widget reacts to all topics that potentially enable to alter and modify the content of the currently loaded City experience.
  3. Click Save.
