From the Author section of the action bar, click Text
 .

Click to place the text.

Type the text, and then click outside the text box to finish.
The text position is independent from the 3D viewpoint and the text is always
parallel to the screen.

When you move the new text, blue lines are displayed to help you align the text
with areas in the viewport, or with other texts.

Drag a corner manipulator to resize the image with the current aspect
ratio.

Drag a side manipulator to resize in this direction only.

Click the text box then use the
Properties panel to modify properties as needed.

Repeat these steps as many times as necessary to create additional text boxes.

To remove a text, select it then press
Delete.
