You can define a 2D-view section as the In Work Object by selecting the appropriate mode.
Before you begin:
Create a representation with a solid, a surface and a volume, for example.
From the From the
Automotive
section of the
action bar,, click Define a Section as the In Work Object.
Click Reframe on to reframe the view and display the section elements contained in a selected group.
Click Normal View to display the cutting plane parallel to the screen.
Click Show only current section to hide all the elements from the work area except those of the selected section group.
Click Set no keep mode to change the mode to No Keep and not retain an element on which you are performing an operation.
Click Lock view point to lock or unlock the orientation of the viewing vector. If it is activated, the viewing vector is locked perpendicularly to the section plane.
Click OK to apply the current options.
Notes:
After you have defined a 2D section as a working object, the view plane
can act as an extended work on support for some wireframe creation commands where work
on support already exists (for example, creating points, lines, circles etc).
The 2D-view section acts as an Extended Work on Support with the Grid type set to
None.
The wireframe creation commands must be activated inside the 2D-view section
container, that is, the 2D view section must already be defined as a working object
prior to activating the command.
It is impossible to use the work on support plane as a support inside the 2D-view
section container.
