Creating Face-Face Fillets

Face-Face Fillet lets you create a face-face fillet between faces without intersection or with more than one sharp edge between them.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Create a 3D shape containing two surfaces.

Create a Face-Face Fillet

You can create a basic face-face fillet by two faces.

  1. In the Faces to fillet box, select two or more surfaces.
  2. In the Extremities list, select any one of the extremities option that is the relimitation mode.
  3. In the Radius box, enter a radius value if you are not satisfied with the default one.

This value must be greater than 0.

  4. Select the Conic parameter check box to vary the section of the fillet.
Note: For a parameter comprised between or equal to:
    • 0.5: the resulting curve is a parabola.
    • 0 and 0.5: the resulting curve is an arc of an ellipse.
    • 0.5 and 1: the resulting curve is a hyperbola.
  5. Click Preview.
  6. You can select theTrim support elements check box to relimit the support elements and assemble them to the fillet.
  7. Click OK.
Important: The selection of the feature prevails over the selection of the sub-element. To select a sub-element, you need to apply the ''Geometrical Element'' filter in the User Selection Filter from the App Options panel.
