Creating a Shell

Shell lets you shell a feature, that means empty it, while keeping a given thickness on its sides. Shelling may also consist in adding thickness to the outside.

Before you begin: Create a volume with a face to be removed.
  1. In the Faces to remove box, select the face(s) to be removed.
The Support Volume box is filled with the volume owning the selected face.
  2. In the Inside thickness box, enter the value or use the arrows to change the thickness value.
  3. Click OK.
The feature is shelled: the selected face is left open.
  4. Double-click the shell to edit it.
  5. In the Other thickness box, select a face.
  6. Double-click the thickness value displayed on this face.
  7. Enter a value in the dialog box that appears and click OK.
  8. Select the Smoothing mode.
  9. Click OK.
