Creating an Axis

Axis lets you create an axis feature from an element.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Create a 3D shape containing a circle, an ellipse, an oblong curve or a revolution surface.

Create an Axis using a Circle

  1. In the Element box, select the circle or a portion of circle.
  2. In the Direction box, select the direction, when not normal to the surface.
  3. Select the Axis type.
  4. Click OK.

Create an Axis using a Revolution Surface

  1. In the Element box, select the revolution surface or portion of revolution surface.

  2. Click OK.

Important: The axis can be displayed in the 3D geometry, either infinite or limited to the geometry block of the input element. This option is to be parameterized in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > 3D Modeling Core > Generative Shape Design, General tab.
