Creating Advanced Bead Surfaces

Creating a Bead Surface by Specifying Height and Radius

Advanced Bead lets you create a bead surface from a profile on a support surface with specified height and radius.

Before you begin:

Create a 3D shape containing a curve profile and a surface.

  1. Select Bead Type Round bead with H/R.
  2. Optional: Specify a user-defined Projection Direction and Draft Direction, for example, by creating two lines.
  3. Clear Trim Support and click OK.
  4. Double-click the Advanced Bead.x feature in the tree.
  5. In the Advanced Bead Definition dialog box, click Reverse Direction to create the bead surface on the other side of the support surface.
  6. Click Trim Support to merge the bead surface and the support.
  7. Reverse again the direction and click Intersection fillet radius.
Intersection fillets are computed along the intersection edges of the bead surface and the support.
Note: To compute an intersection fillet, the Trim Support option must be selected.
