Deleting Useless or Unreferenced Elements

You can identify elements that are neither Part Design features nor used by Part Design features, and delete them.

When you launch the command, these unused elements are selected for deletion. You can also opt to retain elements that are selected for deletion.

  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, click Delete Useless Elements .
    The Delete Useless Elements dialog box appears displaying all geometrical elements along with any one of the following statuses.
    • Keep, solid: Assigned to Part Design features and 3D Tolerancing & Annotation.
    • Keep, used by solid: Assigned to features that are used by Part Design features or 3D Tolerancing & Annotation.
    • Delete: Assigned to features that are not used by Part Design features and 3D Tolerancing & Annotation.

  2. Optional: Right-click the required element and select Keep.

    The list is updated and the status of the selected element changes to Keep. In addition, the global status is updated.

    Important: Some unused elements may be used by elements that you select for retention. In this case, the status of the element is set to Keep, propagate.
  3. Click OK.
    Elements with Delete status are removed.
    Note: Only the representations that contain geometrical elements are displayed in this list.
