Checking Connections Between Surfaces

Surface Connection Checker analyzes a model to find connectivity problems, with respect to given conditions.

  1. Leave Search Distance at its default value.

Note: Search Distance must remain below the size of the smallest edges or surfaces present in the model.

  2. Select each line of the list in turn to highlight the problems in the work area.
  3. Click Transfer.
The list of Anomalies Selected is emptied. The defective faces are transferred to the G1 gaps.1 Geometrical Set for a future healing and hidden in the work area.

The Transfer dialog box appears, with the list of problems detected, with the name of the sites and the name of the domain, ordered in decreasing fault value.

  4. Select a line and click the single arrow.
    • The line is transferred to the Anomalies Selected list.
    • Transferred surfaces can be used directly as input for a local join.
  5. Click Extract.
    • The analysis results are generated as extracts performed on each defective face. The extract feature takes the color of the defect.
    • At validation, the extract features are sent to geometrical sets named after the defect, and organized in sub-sets for the sites.
    • The original tree is kept, completed with the defect geometrical sets. The analysis results are persistent and available when and where required.
