Comparing Models

Compare compares two versions (3D shape representations) of a model.

  1. Open the first 3D shape representation to compare (Content 1).
  2. From the Analysis section of the action bar, click Compare and select the second 3D Shape Representation (Content 2).
  3. Edit the Distance used for the comparison.
  4. Select the Quick method for a comparison made on the supporting surfaces.
    1. Select Embedded Content 1 or Embedded Content 2 and specify their display color.
      The embedded faces found in the selected representation are displayed in the selected color. Otherwise, they are considered as identical.
  5. Alternatively, select the Detailed method for a comparison on the areas.
    1. Select a meshing mode from the list.
    2. Select Topological to find topological differences.
  6. Click Compute.
  7. Under Selection,
    1. Zoom in and out, pan, rotate and reframe as you want to inspect the representations.
    2. Use the horizontal slider to define opacity.
    3. Move the vertical slider in front of the content you want to verify.
    4. Edit colors as required.
  8. Click Merge Options, select the required check boxes and the Destination.
