Creating the Main Input Files from Connector for Abaqus/CAE
- From the install directory, unzip the Abaqus files into a directory.
See Model Files for more information about the files in the install directory. - Launch the 3DEXPERIENCE dashboard in a web browser.
-
From the Compass, drag Run Abaqus/CAE to your dashboard.
- Click Launch Abaqus/CAE.
You must have a private local 3DOrchestrate Station running before you can launch Abaqus/CAE. - Open the model database LH-Human-Model-<release number>.cae from the unzipped directory.
- Expand the Jobs in the Model Tree.
- Right click on the heart-elec job, and select Write Input.
- From the dialog box that appears, click Yes to continue with the input file generation.
- Right click on the heart-mech job, and select Write Input.
- From the main menu bar, select File->Save to 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
- From the Save to 3DEXPERIENCE dialog box, select the electrical and mechanical model input files and click OK.
- Close Run Abaqus/CAE.
Running the Heart Model Electrical Analysis from Abaqus Study
- Launch the 3DEXPERIENCE dashboard in a web browser.
-
From the Compass, drag Abaqus Study to your dashboard.
- Click Run Job to create a new simulation study.
- Select Abaqus as the application, and click Next.
- Drag all of the Abaqus input files from the unzipped directory to Abaqus Study.
- Click , and select Add Reference from the menu that appears.
- Select the Heart Model electrical analysis input file, and click OK.
- Click again, and add a reference to the Heart Model structural analysis input file.
- From the heart-elec.inp input file, click .
- Click Next to define the solver arguments.
- Click Add/Remove options, and click cpus to define the number of CPUs you have available for the analysis.
- Click Next to define the compute environment, and select a 3DOrchestrate Station.
- Click Next to select the files to save.
- Select Generate 3DEXPERIENCE Results to generate a lightweight physics simulation object that can be viewed with Physics Results Explorer. This option is supported only on a 3DOrchestrate Station that is running on a Microsoft Windows platform.
- Select Result Files to save the output database file and the SIM output file to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
- Select Log Files to save the Abaqus status and log file to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
- Click Run to analyze the Heart Model electrical input file.
Running the Heart Model Mechanical Analysis from Abaqus Study
- After the Heart Model electrical job has completed, click to create a new job.
Abaqus Study creates a new job containing the same files as the Heart Model electrical job. - Add the output database file generated by the Heart Model electrical job to Abaqus Study.
The Heart Model mechanical job is a
sequentially coupled structural
analysis that reads data from the output database file generated by the electrical job. - From the heart-mech.inp input file, click .
- Click Next to define the solver arguments.
- Click Add/Remove options, and do the following:
- Click cpus, and define the number of CPUs you have available for the analysis.
- Click double, and select both to indicate that both the Abaqus/Explicit packager and analysis will run in double precision.
- Click Next to define the compute environment and the files to save.
- Click Run to analyze the Heart Model structural input file.
Opening and running the Abaqus Heart Model from Connector for Abaqus/CAE
-
From the Compass, drag Run Abaqus/CAE to your dashboard.
- Drag all of the Abaqus files (including all the relevant *INCLUDE files) for a coupled electrical-structural analysis from the unzipped directory to your Managed Data.
- Click Launch Abaqus/CAE.
- Select File->Download from 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to download the Heart Model database file from your managed data (LH-Human-Model-<release number>.cae).
- Use the Job module to configure and run the model.
- If desired, select File->Save to 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to save model and/or results data on the platform.
