Defining Standard Component

You can define the standard component by specifying the host type and other parameters.


Before you begin:
  • Assign the Common Reference System resource in the Common Geometry Resource resource table in Data Setup.
  • Create a 3D shape under a root product and define parameters.

  1. Activate the product level.
  2. Switch to Hanger Design .
  3. From the Definition section of the action bar, click Standard Definition .
    The Set Up Wizard dialog box appears.
  4. In the Reference box, select the 3D shape.
  5. Select the axis system as a reference to position the part component.
    1. Under Axis List, click Add an Axis System .
      The Axis System.1 is added in the Axis Name column.
    2. Optional: To add another axis system, click Add an Axis System .
    3. In the Host Type column, select any of the following host types.

      • Curve
      • Surface
      • Point
      • Axis

      Note: Click available at the right of each row to remove the corresponding row containing axis system and host.
  6. Optional: Select a predefined volume other than the volume of the component.

    The selected volume is considered for interference computation and space reservation.

  7. Optional: In the Snapping Planes box, select the reference planes to align a component.
  8. In the Public Parameters box, select the required parameters.
  9. Click .
    The standard component (identified as StndPositionedComponent.x) is added to the tree and the icon is modified.
  10. Click Share > Save > Save All to save the component.
