You can place a group of components in a diagram view from the catalog. A
logical reference in a catalog containing sheet and a view is referred as a component group
structure. When placing the logical reference in the diagram view, all the components and
their connections are placed.
Note:
You can also place a group of components in a
diagram view from the library.
The logical reference stored in the catalog must not
contain any layout or symbol representation. Annotations and stretching properties are
copied.
Before you begin:
Create a system containing a diagram view.
The catalog is opened in the Catalog Browser dialog
box.
Select a chapter in the left-hand column of the Catalog Browser dialog box.
All the elements in the chapter are listed in the right column of the
Catalog Browser dialog box.
Drop the reference containing all the components in the diagram view.
A preview of the symbols appears and follows your pointer. The distance between the
symbols is respected. The routes are not visible yet.
Click the diagram view to validate the position of the components.
All the components and the routes are placed in the diagram view. In the tree, the
references are instantiated. The membership between components and the line ID remains the
same.
