Creating Space Links

You can create links between logical components and space references.

Note: For more information about space references, see Space Allocation user's guide.


Before you begin:
  • Under the Logical node, create a logical component.
  • Under the Physical node, create a physical product with space references.
  • Create an implementation link between the logical component and the physical product. For more information, see Creating Implement Relations.

Deleting Space Links
  1. From the Edition section of the action bar, select Create Space Link .
  2. Select the logical component.

    Note: You can multiselect several logical components.

  3. In the Space Assignment dialog box, select From Selection.
  4. Optional: To link a space to routes, select Assign spaces to routed objects.
  5. Click Manual.

    Note: If you click Automatic, new links are created automatically according to the positions of the components in the diagram view. A business rule is provided to determine the space reference for each logical component.

  6. In the Object Selection dialog box, select the From session tab, and click Retrieve Loaded Objects.

    Note: If the physical component is not in session, click From Search to find it.

    The space reference appears.
  7. Select the physical product and click Ok.

    You can select several space references.

    The space reference is linked to the logical reference.
  8. Right-click the logical component and select the Space tab.
    In the Space References area, the space reference linked with the logical component appears.
