Displaying Symbol Representations as Thumbnails

In a catalog, you can associate thumbnails of symbols with logical references. As result, the logical reference appears as a thumbnail showing its symbol representation.


Before you begin: Create a catalog containing logical references associated with symbol representations.
  1. From the Layout section of the action bar, click Manage Thumbnails .
  2. In the Catalog Browser dialog box, click Open a catalog.
    The Choose a Catalog or Chapter dialog box appears.

    The catalogs and chapters assigned as favorite in the Data Setup appears in the list for quick selection. For more information, see .

  3. Optional: To select the catalog other than favorites set in the Electrical Logical Resources:
    1. Click More.
    2. In the Object Selection dialog box, search for the desired catalog.
    3. Select the catalog and click OK when results appear.
      The catalog is opened in the Catalog Browser dialog box. The name of the Catalog Browser dialog box is updated with the name of the selected catalog.
  4. Select a chapter or logical reference for which you want associate a thumbnail with.
  5. Close the Catalog Browser dialog box.
    A message on the upper right corner tells you how many thumbnails are created.
  6. From the Tools section, click Catalog Browser .
  7. Open the catalog.
    The logical reference appears as a thumbnail representing their symbol representations. Thumbnails cannot be imported.
