Importing a BVH File

Import Animation re-imports BVH files originally exported from Human Animation Studio, and modified in third-party animation authoring software.

Important:
  • Export and subsequent import of a given BVH file must be performed on the exact same human skeleton. As an example, consider a human model that we will call Jane: if you export an animation of Jane, it is for Jane, and Jane only, that you must re-import the BVH file.
  • Animations are imported without keyframes. Therefore, timeline management is not possible for shared animations.
Important: In Human Animation Studio, BVH files are exported and imported with the ZXY convention as orientation channel.

  1. In the Open dialog box, browse to the folder containing the BVH file to import.
  2. Select the BVH file and click Open.
The animation is imported and listed in the tree, under the Animation Set node.
