Exporting and Importing Textures

You can export and import human textures.

You can only work with diffuse textures. All material effects related to other material channels can only be managed with a PLM material and UV projection mode.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: From the Human section of the action bar, click Edit Human to open the panel.

Export

You can export textures to reuse them.

  1. In the panel, click Makeup.
  2. In the work area, select a mesh.
  3. In the Texture area, click Export.
  4. In the Export Texture dialog box, select a file name and choose an image format.
  5. Click Save.

The diffuse texture of the select mesh is exported.

Note: If you need to display the human with its materials colors in 3DPlay, in Product Finder, or in a 3DSwym community, select Save Materials in CGR. By default, this option is cleared to reduce the human model size and to enable you to open or save the model faster.

Import

You can import textures and apply them to your human.

  1. In the panel, click Makeup.
  2. In the work area, select a mesh.
  3. In the Texture area, click Import.
  4. In the Import Texture dialog box, enter a file name and select an image format.
  5. Click Open.

The texture is imported and applied to the selected mesh.

Delete Textures

You can delete the original textures of a human.

  1. In the panel, click Makeup.
  2. Under Option, click Delete original textures to remove the texture from the human model to reduce the model size.
  3. Optional: Click Restore original textures to recover the textures for a human model without its original textures.

    Note: Restore original textures is not available with HD human models.
