Equivalent Diameter

This section describes the Equivalent Diameter tables and how to customize it.

This page discusses:

Overview

This resource file is a discrete list of all possible equivalent diameters of a part or a duct for a single standard.

In Data Setup, this table should be assigned to:

  • when using file-based tables, the Equivalent Diameter item in the resource table of HVAC Discipline Resources with a Standard criteria.
  • when using Engineering Specification objects, the Equivalent Diameter item in the resource table of HVAC Specification Resources with a Standard criteria.

Table Description

To customize the table, enter all possible equivalent diameters of a part or a duct for a single standard.

The values in the table are strings. You can use any string you want, however you must use the same codification throughout all resource tables.

Important: You must create one table for each standard that you use.

File-Based Table

A typical Equivalent Diameter file-based table is shown below:

V_EquivalentDiameter (string)V_Shape (string)V_Height (in)V_Width (in)V_CornerRadius (mm)
100mm FlatOval 100mm 300mm 0mm
200mm FlatOval 200mm 500mm 0mm
100mm Rectangle 100mm 300mm 0mm
100mm Rectangle 100mm 300mm 20mm
200mm Rectangle 200mm 500mm 0mm
200mm Rectangle 200mm 500mm 20mm

Engineering Specification

A typical Equivalent Diameter Engineering Specification table is shown below:

Equivalent DiameterShapeHeightWidthCorner Radius
100mm FlatOval 100mm 300mm 0mm
200mm FlatOval 200mm 500mm 0mm
100mm Rectangle 100mm 300mm 0mm
100mm Rectangle 100mm 300mm 20mm
200mm Rectangle 200mm 500mm 0mm
200mm Rectangle 200mm 500mm 20mm
