Removing Useless Nodes

You can remove useless nodes on a route. A useless node is a node placed on the straight portion of a route and is not used to define the characteristics of the route.

Before you begin: Open a product containing a route with useless nodes.
  1. Double-click the route from which you want to remove useless nodes.
You switch to the HVAC 3D Part Design app and a yellow symbol appears on each node of the route.
  2. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, click Remove Useless Nodes .
All useless nodes are removed from the route.
    Notes:
    • If the node is of one of the following types, it is not removed:
      • Directional node
      • Port node
      • Offset node
      • Support node
    • If the node is referred by:
      • a branch: the node is removed and the branch refers to the previous node. The position of the branch remains the same.
      • an insulation: the start extremity of the insulation will refer to the previous node and the end extremity to the next node. The length of the insulation remains the same.
    • If you want to remove useless nodes on multiple routes, you can use the Upgrade Route Geometry command. For more information, see Upgrading or Cleaning Route Geometry.
