Routing a Flexible Duct by Inserting a Point

You can create a route passing through defined points using the Insert Point option.

  1. In the Data Information panel, select Flexible as Route Type.
  2. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, click Create Route .
  3. Click Insert Point in the context toolbar.
    Notes:
    • You can select an existing point using the Select Point option or you can create:
      • a point using the Point option.
      • a midpoint of the curve using the Mid Point option.
      • an end point of the curve using the End Point option.
      • an intersection point using the Intersection option.
      • a projection point using the Projection option.
      • a 3D point using the 3D Co-ordinate Point on Fluidic Curve option. If you click this option, the Position 3D Co-ordinate Point Definition dialog box appears:
        1. Click Distance on curve or Ratio of curve length.
        2. Edit the value and press Enter. A green node is displayed on the duct to show the position of the new node.
        3. Optional: Change the value using the arrows. The green node moves simultaneously on the duct.
Note: This option is available only if the 3D point is created between two existing points.
    • The curve cannot be the duct curve.
    • By default, the X, Y and Z coordinates are set to 0.
