Managing Fluidic Resources Cache

You can fill a fluidic cache with resources such as specifications, tables, chapters, and parts stored in Data Setup and load them only once when you start a new session. The fluidic cache allows you to improve the performance when you create a network and place parts, as the objects are already loaded.

  1. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, click Manage Fluidic Cache .
  2. In the Action area of the Manage Fluidic Cache dialog box, select one of the following:
    • Fill the Fluidic Resources Cache: enables you to load all specifications from Data Setup displayed in the Lists of Specifications area. The specification and its components, tables, parts filters, and parts (without stream) are loaded.
    • Clear the Fluidic Resources Cache: enables you to empty the cache.
    • Fill the CATIA Streams Cache: enables you to load all stream of parts pointed by the specification in the CATIA Streams Cache. Having the part already accessible in the cache on the hard disk improves the performance. For more information about CATIA Streams Cache, see Cache.
Note: The Manage Fluidic Cache dialog box is also displayed when you open an app for the first time in a session.
  3. In the Lists of Specifications area, select the discipline tab and the specifications you want to load.

Note: The discipline tab is displayed only if:
    • You have defined the specifications in the Data Setup.
    • You have the discipline license.

  4. Select Show the request at first open of fluidic apps to control the loading of data each time you open a new CATIA session.

If you clear this option, data are loaded automatically when you start a session.

  5. Choose a number of favorite parts to load the streams of these parts.
The streams of these parts are loaded in the Fluidic Cache and can be directly used by the app.
Note: A new filter unit filter mode is available. For more information, see Create a Filter Unit.
